Create Mosaic Succulents!
I love teaching my succulent in-studio class! All my classes are in my Holliston, MA studio unless otherwise noted.
This class is open to all levels; beginners are welcome. Materials are included in the class fee.
- Thurs, May 9, 2024, 1:30-5:00 This is a shorter class where you will learn the pottery, china and stained glass succulent flower method (excludes the putty succulents and composition).
- Sat, Oct 18 and 19, 2024 (expanded hours) at Snow Farm in Williamsburg, MA
- Sat, Oct 26, 9-4:00 and Sun, Oct 27, 9-12:00, 2024
Both sessions are required.
Students ages 14 through adult
Imagine making three-dimensional mosaic flowers that look alive at first glance! I will guide you through what materials are best and what tools are needed to create a vibrant succulent garden.
On the first day we will discuss what plates, china, pottery and stained glass work best to create succulents and discuss what materials and tools are needed. Then you will learn how to create 9 different pottery/china, rock and putty succulents. They will then dry overnight.
The second day is the succulent composition class. We will assemble the succulents into the finished piece, using our preserved natural materials and discuss how to create a cohesive background. You can gather your natural materials and succulents at home or can use the materials I have at the studio.
Inexpensive substrate options from wood to frames will be discussed. Included in the class fee is a piece of wood approx., 5×8″. There will be frames of varying sizes available for an additional fee.
The completed succulents can be used as wall art, as a table centerpiece or used to augment plant pots, or picture frames.
Fee – $240
This is an introductory class. If you want to further explore creating succulents, you are welcome to do so in my weekly in-studio classes (you can purchase a single class, a 4-pack, or a 10-pack).
Materials will be available for purchase if you would like to practice your new skills at home.
No previous art experience needed!
Please note, my studio is on the second floor of a mill building with no elevator.
Also, please wear closed toe shoes (no sandals), thanks!
